A Love That Never Lets Go
Meet Kelly King of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma
Kelly has an enormous task. She is responsible for developing and creating Women’s Ministry programs for women in the state of Oklahoma for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. With over 1,800 churches across the state, she is constantly pushing the envelope and creating new opportunities for women to get involved in a deeper relationship with Christ and with each other.
Her annual women’s retreat at Falls Creek is a big event. Over 2,000 women come every year and promotion is key to exciting women to attend. Kelly came to Lampstand looking for a creative way to grab the attention of the women she wanted to reach. When she told us the theme’s retreat was “A Love That Never Let’s Go” we immediately started thinking through ideas to bring this theme to life in a powerful way.
After some thought, we came to the idea of using a story we had heard of several years back about a glassblower that uses broken pieces of glass to create breathtaking glass vases.
That visual stood out to us in a profound way. We thought, “ if we could tell a story that depicted how God’s love for us would never let go and can create something beautiful out of our broken lives we could have something special.”
Kelly immediately saw where we were going and knew that we should tell Stacy’s story of redemption and how God’s love had healed her life. When we heard Stacy’s story, we knew we had it. All that was left was execution.
Check out the final result.
